Hip Hop World Documentation

Design Plan v8 — February 2026

15 Sections From Design Plan v9 February 2026

1. Platform Overview

Hip Hop World is a decentralized, gamified hip hop metaverse. Players create Communities, collect Cards, connect through governance, and celebrate hip hop culture. The platform runs across 43 domains with a fixed-supply digital currency — 1 billion Hip Hop Cash — powering every interaction from card minting to land control.

The world is structured as a nested directory: Cards live in Places, Places form Communities, Communities compose Lands, and 100 Lands make up the World. Every layer is player-owned, economically active, and governed from the bottom up.

2. The World Map

The Hip Hop World is a spatial hierarchy. Everything exists on a grid, and every cell is a directory. Players navigate, own, and govern real positions in a structured map.

Land Grid

The World contains 100 Lands arranged in a 10x10 grid. Each Land contains 100 Communities (also 10x10). Each Community contains 100 Places. This creates a total of 1,000,000 addressable locations in the world.

Layer Count Composition Grid
World 1 100 Lands 10x10
Land 100 100 Communities each 10x10 per Land
Community 10,000 100 Places each 10x10 per Community
Place 1,000,000 Hosts stacked Cards Individual cell

Progressive Expansion

The world starts with a single Community — Mental Stamina (0000) — in Land 00. Only cells adjacent to already-owned Communities can be purchased. When a full row or column of Communities within a Land is purchased, a new Land opens on the World grid.

  • Starting point: Community 0000 (Mental Stamina) in Land 00.
  • Adjacency rule: Only cells touching an existing owned Community can be purchased.
  • Land unlock: A complete row or column of Communities triggers a new Land opening.
  • Earned scale: Every lit cell represents real economic investment. The map grows organically.

Navigation

Players navigate the world through two views. At the Land level, a grid view shows all 100 Community cells with ownership and activity status. Inside a Community, players enter a WASD-walkable top-down view where they can move between Places, see stacked Cards, and interact with the environment.

Directory Model

Everything in Hip Hop World is a directory. Content flows upward through the hierarchy: Cards are posted to Places, Places aggregate into Communities, Communities form Lands, and Lands compose the World. The directory at each level (hiphop.directory) reflects the aggregate of everything below it.

  • Cards → Places: Cards are stacked onto Places. Each Place is a directory of its cards.
  • Places → Communities: 100 Places form a Community. The Community directory shows all content within.
  • Communities → Lands: 100 Communities form a Land. Land directories aggregate Community-level data.
  • Lands → World: 100 Lands form the World. The global directory is the sum of all Lands.

3. Hip Hop Cash

Built

Hip Hop Cash is the fixed-supply digital currency that powers every transaction in the world. There will only ever be 1,000,000,000 Cash. It is the universal unit of value: funding card creation, community purchasing, trading, governance, and all economic activity.

Fixed Supply & Creation Costs

Action Cost What You Get
Create a Card 100 Cash 1 Card with purpose + media/link
Create a Community 10,000 Cash Personal game board with 100 Place Cards

Cash Valuation

Base exchange rate: $0.10 USD per Cash. A Place costs $10, a Community costs $1,000, and the total economy represents $100M. Cash is acquired through direct exchange or membership rewards — never distributed for free.

Community Ownership Levels

Communities support fractional ownership across 10 levels. Each level = 10 Places = 10% ownership = proportional governance vote. Entry at Level 1 costs $100. Full ownership (Level 10) costs $1,000.

Membership Tiers

Pay a recurring fee (USD or crypto) to receive Cash at discounted rates. Formula: Fee ÷ Rate = Cash. Best available rate applies (membership and Community discounts do not stack).

Cash Distribution

  • Locked Supply: 10% (100,000,000 Cash) permanently cached in Land & Communities. Initial Community sales deposit Cash into the Community's treasury within HIPHOP.FUND.
  • Free Market: 90% (900,000,000 Cash) circulates through exchange, trade, and membership rewards.
  • After Initial Sale: All Community trading is peer-to-peer. Cash flows between Communities through trade, governance, and economic mechanics.
  • Places: Each Place has a base value of 100 Cash. Cards stacked on a Place increase its Cash value.
  • Communities: Aggregate Cash value of all 100 Places plus direct Community holdings.
  • Lands: Aggregate Cash value of all 100 Communities within the Land.
  • World: Total circulating supply distributed across all active layers.

The HIP/HOP Duality

HIP = value (feminine). HOP = shape (masculine). Cash is raw value (HIP). Cards are shaped art (HOP). 100 Cash becomes 1 Card — value is given shape. The Card can be worth more than its Cash because of the art, utility, and cultural resonance it carries.

Cash Flow

Cash moves through the system in five primary channels:

  • Creating Cards: 100 Cash per Card. The Cash is embedded in the Card permanently.
  • Creating Communities: 10,000 Cash locks value into 100 Place Cards. Establishes a personal game board.
  • Posting Cards: Members pay a fee to the Community owner when posting Cards to Places. Revenue flows to owners.
  • Trading: Cards carry embedded Cash value. Minimum 100 Cash per Card. Market price may exceed embedded value.
  • Voting Power: Each Community starts with 10,000 Cash in voting power. Grows through engagement and holder counts.

Implemented

  • Unified wallet system (cash_wallets table)
  • P2P Cash transfers with notifications
  • Transaction ledger (immutable cash_transactions)
  • Admin treasury grants
  • Rate limiting on economy endpoints

4. Hip Hop Cards

Built

Cards are the atomic content unit of Hip Hop World. Every Card costs 100 Cash to create and requires a stated purpose plus attached media or a link. Cards are permanent, stakeable, collectible, and tradeable.

Card Creation

  • Cost: 100 Hip Hop Cash per Card.
  • Purpose: Every Card must declare a purpose before minting. This determines its type and behavior.
  • Media/Link: Cards carry media (audio, photo, video) or an external link. This is the Card's content.
  • Permanent: Once created, Cards exist permanently. They can be traded but not destroyed.

Card Types

Card Type Domain Description
Community hiphop.community Core card type. Personal game board with 100 Places. Costs 10,000 Cash.
Audio hiphop.audio Music — the core media card. Songs, beats, mixes, and spoken word.
Photo hiphop.photo Photography and visual art. Album covers, portraits, street art.
Movie hiphop.movie Video content. Music videos, documentaries, live performances.

Place hiphop.place 100 per Community. Host other cards. 1,000,000 total supply across the world.
Social hiphop.social Membership passes, access tokens, and community credentials.

Card Templates

Card Templates create a content-to-card pipeline that turns platform content into mintable Cards. Creators submit content — events, links, songs, albums, videos, or lyrics — and attach optional Cash to create a pending template. After admin approval, the template becomes active and the creator receives the first card free (100 Cash locked).

  • Content sources: Events, links, songs, albums, videos, and lyrics can all become Card Templates.
  • Creator royalty: When others mint from a template, 10% of the 100 Cash goes to the original creator as a royalty. The remaining 90 Cash is locked in the card.
  • One per user: Each user can only mint one card per template, ensuring broad distribution.
  • Ranking: Templates are sorted by cash embedded (highest value), mint count (most popular), and creation date (newest).
Action Cost Result
Submit Template Optional Cash Pending template awaiting admin approval
Admin Approves Template active, creator gets first card free (100 Cash locked)
Mint from Template 100 Cash 10 Cash royalty to creator, 90 Cash locked in card

Implemented

  • Card minting (100 Cash, atomic wallet deduction)
  • Card marketplace (list, buy, cancel)
  • Card transfers between users
  • Card Templates pipeline (submit, approve, mint with royalties)
  • 9 card types: Community, Audio, Photo, Movie, Marketing, Event, Tour, Place, Social
  • Card Template admin approval queue (4 public + 3 admin endpoints)
  • Rich media embeds on Cards via oEmbed (YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, Bandcamp)

5. Card Stacking & Holders

Built

Hip Hop World uses two complementary value systems that determine Card and Community power. Both systems matter, and together they create a rich incentive structure rewarding both commitment and cultural resonance.

System 1 — Stacking (Position Power)

Cards are stacked onto Places in time order. The first Card placed sits at the bottom of the stack and holds the most power. Position is permanent — once a Card is stacked, its position never changes. This creates a foundation metaphor: the earliest supporters literally form the foundation.

  • Time-ordered: Cards stack in the order they are placed. First in = bottom of stack.
  • Permanent position: Once placed, a Card's position in the stack is fixed forever.
  • Bottom = most power: The foundation Card has the strongest position. Power decreases upward.
  • Rewards commitment: Early supporters who stake their Cards first gain permanent positional advantage.

System 2 — Holders (Card Value)

The more players who hold a Card, the more valuable it becomes. Holder count directly determines the Card's influence in the system — affecting Community power rankings, governance weight, and directory prominence.

  • More holders = more valuable: A Card held by 1,000 players is worth more than one held by 10.
  • Community power: Communities with widely-held Cards rank higher in governance and directory listings.
  • Governance influence: Holder count contributes to voting power calculations for Land control.
  • Rewards cultural resonance: Cards that resonate spread further. The culture decides what matters.

Why Both Systems

Stacking rewards those who commit early and take positions. Holders reward those who create content that resonates broadly. A Card can be powerful because it was first (stacking) or because it is beloved (holders). The healthiest Communities will have both — strong foundations and wide cultural reach.

Implemented

  • Stacking fees flow to community owners
  • Community-set minimum stacking fees
  • Rate limiting on stacking operations

6. Communities

A Community is the core card type in Hip Hop World. It is a personal game board with 100 Places, owned by a player, and serving as the primary unit of participation, governance, and cultural identity. Creating a Community costs 10,000 Cash and mints 100 Place Cards automatically.

Core Gameplay Loop

The gameplay loop defines the day-to-day experience inside a Community:

1

Create a Community — spend 10,000 Cash to establish your game board.

2

Name, theme, and upgrade — choose your Community's identity and customize Places.

3

Members create Cards — players mint Audio, Photo, Movie, and Marketing cards (100 Cash each).

4

Stack Cards onto Places — members post their Cards to your Places, paying a fee to you.

5

Collect Cards — players collect Cards across Communities, increasing holder counts.

6

Compete for Land control — your Community's combined power contributes to Land governance.

7

Form Networks — ally with other Communities to pool voting power and influence.

Community Roles

Role Access Level Capabilities
Owner Full control Set fees, manage Places, upgrade types, delegate authority, receive revenue.
Manager Delegated authority Manage day-to-day operations on behalf of the Owner. Configurable permissions.
Member Post and stack Create Cards, post to Places (paying fee), collect Cards. Active participant.
Visitor View only Browse the Community, view stacked Cards, but cannot post or stack.

7. Place Types — The Five Elements

Every Place in Hip Hop World starts as The Block — the default, unspecialized state. Owners can upgrade Places to one of four specialized types, each generating a unique resource. A future fifth type — The Vote — will enable governance participation.

Default: The Block

The Block is where every Place begins. It is the base state with no specialization and no resource generation. Blocks can host Cards and participate in stacking but offer no resource bonuses.

Upgrade Types

Place Type Resource Function
The Stage Influence Performance and showcases. Where artists get seen. Drives visibility.
The Studio Creativity Production and creation. Where music gets made. Drives content output.
The Shop Commerce Trade and marketplace. Where value gets exchanged. Drives economic activity.
The Station Reach Radio and streaming. Where music gets heard. Drives audience growth.
The Vote Governance Future: Direct participation in Land-level decision making.

Future: The Vote

The Vote is the planned fifth Place type, generating a governance resource. It will enable Communities to participate directly in Land-level decision making. The Vote transforms Places from economic units into political ones.

Resource Scarcity

Resource generation is inversely proportional to global count. If 80% of upgraded Places are Stages, each Stage generates less Influence than if only 20% were Stages. This creates a self-balancing economy: the rarer the type, the more valuable its resource. Players must think strategically about their upgrade choices.

8. Land Governance

Built

Each of the 100 Lands functions as a Local Area Network Directory. Governance determines who controls the Land and shapes its direction. Control is earned through voting power, which flows from Communities.

Voting Power

  • Base power: Every Community starts with 10,000 Cash in voting power.
  • Engagement bonuses: Active Communities earn additional voting power through Card creation, stacking activity, holder counts, and resource generation.
  • Aggregate: A Community's total voting power is the sum of its base plus all engagement bonuses.

Land Controller

The Community or Network with the most voting power within a Land becomes the Land Controller. The Land Controller shapes the Land's identity, sets policies visible in the Land directory, and gains prestige and influence across the World.

Networks (hiphop.network)

Networks are alliances of Communities that pool their voting power. Any group of Communities can form a Network to collectively compete for Land control. Networks are the political layer — they enable coalition-building, strategic alliances, and shared governance.

  • Pooled voting: Network members combine their voting power for Land governance.
  • Strategic alliances: Communities can join Networks across Lands, enabling cross-border influence.
  • Compete and collaborate: Communities simultaneously compete for individual power and collaborate through Networks for collective governance.

Implemented

  • Land controller voting (community owners vote)
  • Card visibility voting (promote/demote in directories)
  • Idempotent vote updates (INSERT ON DUPLICATE KEY)

9. Social Features

Built

Hip Hop World's social layer connects players through identity, relationships, communication, and discussion. Four core domains power the social experience.

hiphop.id — Identity

The identity layer. Profiles, wallets, and authentication. Every player has a Hip Hop ID that links their wallet, their Communities, their Cards, and their social connections into a single identity.

hiphop.social — Connections

The social graph with three relationship types, all fully built and rate-limited with notification integration:

  • Follow (asymmetric): Track another player's activity without reciprocal connection. Follower/following counts displayed on public profiles with a Follow button.
  • Friends (mutual): Bidirectional connection with accept/decline flow. Friend count shown on profiles with a Friend Request button. Both users must confirm.
  • Teams: Organized groups with four types — Crew, Fanbase, Label, and Collective — and three roles: Leader, Officer, and Member. Team creation is a premium feature gated at the Community tier.

All social APIs are rate-limited. Follow, friend request, and team actions trigger the platform notification system. Public profile pages surface follower, following, and friend counts alongside contextual action buttons.

hiphop.chat — Messaging

Real-time messaging for players, Communities, and Teams. Includes a Discord bridge for cross-platform communication, ensuring Hip Hop World conversations connect to existing communities.

hiphop.forum — Discussion

Long-form discussion boards for deeper conversations. Forums are attached to Communities and Lands, providing structured spaces for proposals, debates, and cultural dialogue.

Teams are the social foundation that enables Network formation — the bridge between social connections and governance.

Implemented

  • HipHop.ID profiles with 11 connection providers
  • Public profiles (hiphop.world/username)
  • Two-factor authentication (TOTP + backup codes)
  • Session management (multi-device) and login audit log
  • Password reset / account recovery
  • Account deletion
  • Privacy controls (public/private/connections_only)
  • Profile completeness score
  • Badges & achievements (55 across 5 categories)
  • Notification system (6 event types)
  • Referral system and profile links (Linktree-style)

  • Friend system (mutual) — accept/decline flow, friend count on profiles
  • Teams — 4 types (crew, fanbase, label, collective), 3 roles (leader, officer, member)

10. Financial Infrastructure

Partially Built

Seven specialized domains power Hip Hop World's financial ecosystem. Each handles a distinct aspect of the economy, from community banking to rare asset auctions.

Domain Name Function
hiphop.fund Community Wallet/Bank Community treasury management. Revenue collection, fund allocation, and financial governance.
hiphop.cash Currency Dashboard Macro economics view. Supply tracking, circulation metrics, and Cash analytics.
hiphop.exchange Token Exchange External token exchange. Bridge between Hip Hop Cash and external cryptocurrencies.
hiphop.trade Resource Marketplace Trade the four resources: Influence, Creativity, Commerce, and Reach between players.
hiphop.capital Investment & Fundraising Investment platform. Communities and Networks can raise capital for projects and expansions.
hiphop.loans Lending & Borrowing Lending and borrowing against Card and Community assets. DeFi-style financial tools.
hiphop.auction Auction House Rare asset auction house. High-value Cards, premium Communities, and unique items.

Premium Membership Tiers

PayPal Subscriptions power three recurring membership tiers. Each tier credits Hip Hop Cash from the treasury per billing cycle at a progressively discounted rate, and unlocks hard feature gates across the platform. There are 18 feature gates in total. Membership and Community discounts do not stack — the best available rate applies.

Tier Price Cash Discount Cash / Cycle Key Features
Place $5/mo · $50/yr 10% ~56 Cash/mo Custom profile themes, premium badge, ad-free experience
Community $50/mo · $500/yr 50% 1,000 Cash/mo Community creation, advanced analytics, bulk card minting, team creation
Land $500/mo · $5,000/yr 90% 50,000 Cash/mo Land ownership, API access, white-label, revenue sharing

The PayPal webhook lifecycle handles subscription events: activate (grant tier + credit Cash), payment (credit Cash on renewal), cancel (downgrade at period end), and suspend (immediate feature lockout). Cash is credited from the treasury at each successful billing event.

Implemented

  • PayPal Subscriptions integration (monthly + annual billing)
  • Three tiers: Place ($5/mo), Community ($50/mo), Land ($500/mo)
  • 18 hard feature gates enforced across platform APIs
  • PayPal webhook lifecycle: activate, payment, cancel, suspend
  • Cash credited from treasury per billing cycle

11. Discovery & Directory

Discovery is how players find content, communities, and opportunities in Hip Hop World. Four domains power the discovery layer.

hiphop.directory — Searchable Content Index & Business Listings

The master directory aggregates content at every level: Places, Communities, Lands, and the World. Searchable, filterable, and sortable by Cash value, holder count, resource output, and activity. The directory is the backbone of visibility in the world.

The directory also powers a Cash-ranked business listing system (see Section 13) where sponsors and businesses submit website links with Cash for visibility ranking across 10 categories, with click/impression tracking and 90-day listing durations.

hiphop.marketing — Promoted Content

Marketing Cards are link cards ranked by Cash value. Visibility is earned through economic commitment — the more Cash embedded in a Marketing Card, the higher it ranks in the directory. This creates a market-driven promotion system where investment directly translates to reach.

hiphop.best — Curated Highlights

Curated highlights and leaderboards showcasing the top-performing Cards, Communities, Lands, and players. Leaderboards are driven by a combination of Cash value, holder count, stacking depth, and resource output.

hiphop.computer — Technology & Tools

The technology and tools dashboard. Developer resources, API access, analytics, and administrative tools for Community owners and Network leaders.

12. Events & Tours

Built

The Events System brings live culture into Hip Hop World. Players create events directly on their hiphop.id profiles for free, and can submit them to hiphop.tours with Cash for visibility ranking. The system supports the full range of hip hop events — from local cyphers to multi-city tours.

Event Types

Type Details Required Use Case
Physical Venue name, address, geo coordinates Live shows, concerts, cyphers, meetups, listening parties
Digital Platform URL Livestreams, virtual events, online battles, listening sessions
Hybrid Venue details + platform URL Events with both in-person and streaming components

Scheduling

Events support flexible scheduling that covers every real-world scenario:

  • Single-date: One-time events with a specific start and end time.
  • Multi-date (festivals): Events spanning multiple days with separate date entries.
  • Recurring: Events that repeat on a schedule — daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, or yearly.
  • Recurrence rules: Day-of-week selection, end conditions (never, after N occurrences, on a specific date), and full timezone support.
  • Per-date cancellation: Cancel a single occurrence without cancelling the entire recurring event.

hiphop.tours — Tours Pipeline

Events created on hiphop.id profiles can be submitted to hiphop.tours with Cash for visibility ranking. The more Cash attached, the higher the event ranks in the tours directory. An admin approval queue ensures quality control before events appear publicly.

1

Create event — free event creation on your hiphop.id profile.

2

Submit to tours — attach Cash to your event and submit for visibility ranking.

3

Admin approval — submitted events enter an approval queue before going live.

4

Cash-ranked visibility — higher Cash = higher position in the tours directory.

Implemented

  • Free event creation on hiphop.id profiles
  • 3 event types: physical, digital, hybrid
  • Full scheduling: single, multi-date, recurring (daily/weekly/biweekly/monthly/yearly)
  • Recurrence rules with day-of-week, end conditions, timezone support
  • Per-date cancellation for recurring events
  • Submit to hiphop.tours with Cash for visibility ranking
  • Admin approval queue for tour submissions
  • 8 API endpoints (create, update, delete, my-events, detail, upcoming, submit-to-tours, cancel-date)

13. Directory Listings

Built

hiphop.directory is the platform's business and sponsor listing system. Organizations submit their website links with Cash to appear in a Cash-ranked directory — the more Cash embedded, the higher the listing position. This creates an organic, market-driven visibility system for businesses connected to hip hop culture.

Listing Lifecycle

1

Draft — create a listing with title, description, URL, and category.

2

Pending — attach Cash and submit for review. Cash amount determines ranking position.

3

Active — admin approves. Listing goes live for 90 days, ranked by Cash embedded.

4

Renewal — top up with additional Cash to extend duration and boost ranking.

5

Expired / Removed — listings expire after 90 days or can be manually removed.
