This policy applies across the HIPHOP.WORLD platform, including HIPHOP.WORLD, HIPHOP.ID, and all associated domains.
By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Account Information
When you create an account or connect to the Platform, we may collect your email address, username, display name, profile information, and avatar configuration associated with your HIPHOP.ID (hiphop.id).
Wallet Information
When you connect a cryptocurrency wallet (such as MetaMask, Phantom, or Xverse), we collect your public wallet address. We do not collect or store your private keys, seed phrases, or wallet passwords.
Social Authentication Data
If you authenticate through a social login provider (Google, Discord, Spotify, SoundCloud, LinkedIn, Battle.net, or Twitch), we receive information from that provider in accordance with your settings and their privacy policies. This may include your name, email address, profile picture, and account identifier. We do not receive your passwords for these services.
Content
When you create Cards, post media (audio, photos, video), set up Marketing Card links, or submit other content, we collect and store that content along with associated metadata such as titles, descriptions, and tags.
Communications
When you communicate through hiphop.chat, send messages, or contact us directly, we may collect the content of those communications.
Community and Social Data
When you create or manage Communities, form Teams, establish social connections (follows and friends), or participate in Networks, we collect information about those relationships and activities.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages visited, features used, time spent, navigation paths, click patterns, and search queries within the directory (hiphop.directory).
Device and Technical Data
We collect device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, IP address, and general location data derived from your IP address.
Blockchain Data
Transactions conducted on the blockchain (including Card creation, Community purchases, stacking, trading, and Cash transfers) are publicly recorded on the blockchain. We collect and index this publicly available data to display your transaction history, fund ledger (hiphop.fund), and asset ownership within the Platform.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain session state, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns. See Section 6 for more details.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
Blockchain Networks
We may collect publicly available transaction data from blockchain networks to verify ownership, display asset histories, and operate Platform features.
Social Login Providers
When you authenticate through a third-party provider, we receive information as described in Section 1.1.
Analytics Providers
We may receive aggregated or anonymized data from analytics partners to understand usage trends.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Platform Operation — To provide, maintain, and operate the Platform, including processing transactions, managing accounts, facilitating card stacking, supporting Community governance, managing the directory, and enabling social features
- Identity and Authentication — To verify your identity, authenticate wallet connections, manage your HIPHOP.ID, and maintain account security
- Communication — To send you important notices about your account, transactions, Community activity, governance events, and Platform updates; and to facilitate real-time communication through hiphop.chat
- Social Features — To enable follows, friend connections, Team formation, Network governance, and Community membership
- Financial Records — To maintain accurate transaction ledgers through hiphop.fund, track Cash flow, process posting fees, and support trading and exchange activity
- Directory and Discovery — To aggregate and index content across the Platform for the Hip Hop Directory, including ranking Marketing Cards by Cash value
- Improvement — To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, improve Platform features, and develop new functionality
- Safety and Security — To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms and Conditions
- Legal Compliance — To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 Public Information
The following information is publicly visible on the Platform by design: your public wallet address; your username and profile information (as configured in hiphop.id); Communities you own; Cards you create, including associated media and metadata; your card stacking activity and stack positions; your holder count for Cards you hold; your social connections; Network memberships; and blockchain transaction records.
You acknowledge that participation in the HIPHOP.WORLD involves public activity. Card creation, stacking, trading, Community ownership, and governance actions are visible to other users and may be recorded permanently on the blockchain.
3.2 Community Owners
Community owners have access to information about activity within their Communities, including posting activity, Card stacks, member lists, posting fee transactions, and engagement metrics.
3.3 Service Providers
We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including hosting, analytics, customer support, and blockchain infrastructure. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes of providing services to us and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3.4 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
3.5 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control of your personal information.
3.6 With Your Consent
We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
4. Blockchain and Public Ledger
You understand and acknowledge that the Platform utilizes blockchain technology. Transactions recorded on the blockchain — including but not limited to Hip Hop Cash transfers, Card minting, Community creation, Card stacking, and trading activity — are publicly accessible, permanent, and cannot be deleted or modified by us. Your public wallet address and associated on-chain activity may be viewable by anyone with access to the blockchain.
We do not control the blockchain and cannot modify, delete, or restrict access to information recorded on it. This includes transaction amounts, wallet addresses, timestamps, and smart contract interactions.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform's services. We may retain certain information after account closure as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain business records.
Information recorded on the blockchain is permanent and cannot be deleted by us or any party.
Content associated with Cards and stacked on Places will persist for as long as the Place and Community exist within the Platform.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
6.1 Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential Cookies — Required for Platform operation, including session management, authentication, and security
- Functional Cookies — Remember your preferences, settings, and customizations to improve your experience
- Analytics Cookies — Help us understand how users interact with the Platform, including which features are most popular and how users navigate between pages
6.2 Your Choices
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You may disable cookies, but this may impair certain features of the Platform. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. These include:
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
- HTTPS encryption for all connections
- Session regeneration on authentication state changes
- Prepared statements for all database queries (SQL injection prevention)
- Secure, time-limited tokens for email verification and password resets
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your wallet private keys, seed phrases, and account credentials. We strongly recommend using hardware wallets, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication where available.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — The right to request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Deletion — The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (including information recorded on the blockchain, which cannot be deleted)
- Portability — The right to request a copy of your personal information in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — The right to object to certain processing of your personal information
- Withdrawal of Consent — The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 13. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Please note that certain information, including blockchain records, publicly stacked Cards, and Community ownership records, may be permanent and cannot be deleted due to the decentralized and immutable nature of blockchain technology.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18 or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental or guardian consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
10. International Data Transfers
The Platform operates globally. Your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those of your jurisdiction. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries outside your country of residence, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection.
Where required by applicable law, we will implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or other legally recognized mechanisms.
11. Third-Party Services
The Platform may contain links to or integrate with third-party services, including blockchain networks, wallet providers, social login providers, the Discord community (via hiphop.chat), and external websites linked through Marketing Cards. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or in connection with the Platform.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Platform with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
For material changes that significantly affect how we handle your personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the Platform or via the email address associated with your account.
