Go Ezko

Go Ezko is a rapper, event producer and community architect born in Cameroon and raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area — Gaithersburg, Maryland. He has been releasing music independently since 2016, when the *Sleep* EP arrived, and has since built a self-released catalogue of fourteen projects and singles on Bandcamp alongside distribution to Spotify and Apple Music. His work comes out of the ordinary rather than the aspirational. By his own account it was shaped by uncertainty, financial hardship, fatherhood and a period of homelessness — "not from luxury, not from celebrity, not from fantasy, but from real life." What began as music grew into $AGA CITY, a community-driven world with its own lore, quests and economy, whose members are called Travelers. The organizing metaphor is a two-state one: THE WASTELANDZ (doubt, isolation, fear, survival, stagnation) and $AGA CITY (community, purpose, creativity, growth, legacy). His stated mission is "to inspire people to travel farther than they thought possible" — and the line he keeps returning to is *"Most artists build audiences. We're building a city."* His forthcoming album, Live From the WASTELANDZ — ten tracks, roughly 26 minutes, described in the project's own copy as "the first transmission from that journey" — is finished and mastered.
